Poker Respect

Basic etiquette is everywhere around us in our homes, the world and even in poker. Players who act in not a very gentleman way are avoided by many, being rude and inconsiderate would put you on many of the poker regulars black list.

Things to Do In Pokerooms/Games

-Be honest: Don’t try to short-change the pot or cheat in any manner.

-Play Swiftly: Even in much slower games like Stud, nobody likes slow players.

-Be Courteous and Friendly: Fancy words that mean, just don’t moan when things do go your way.

-Be a good sport: When you win, making fun of others isn’t a good thing to do unless they are very close friends.

-Be good loser: Show some class when you lose.

-Be prepared: If your leaving early or something comes up tell the other players.

-Bet In Sequence: Don’t bet out of your turn.

Things To not Do

-Giving other players advice: Never give advice to other players during games. If the advice is wrong they will be furious at you and if it’s right the player who lost because of that move will be mad at you.

-Looking at others Hands: Never look at others hand unless they don’t object but most really do hate it.
